Investment & Accessibility

At The Well Counseling & Consultation, therapy is both an investment and a commitment to meaningful change. Healing takes courage, and choosing to work on your mental health is one of the most important decisions you can make.

Private Pay Practice
The Well Counseling & Consultation is a private pay practice and does not currently accept insurance. This allows for greater flexibility, privacy, and a more personalized approach to your care without the limitations often required by insurance companies.

Sliding Scale Availability
A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for individuals and families who may need financial flexibility. These reduced-rate sessions are based on need and availability and are reviewed periodically to ensure access for others.

Focused on Access and Value
My goal is to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care that remains accessible—especially for veterans, active-duty service members, first responders, healthcare professionals, educators, and their families.

If you have questions about rates or availability, please reach out. I’m happy to discuss options and find a path that works.

Accepted Payments

Payment is due at the time of service and can be made using:

  • Debit or Credit Card

  • HSA/FSA Card

  • Secure Online Payment through SimplePractice

At this time, I do not accept insurance. However, I can provide a superbill upon request if you’d like to seek out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider.

At The Well, I believe in transparency, dignity, and fairness. You’ll always know the cost of care before we begin—because your healing shouldn’t come with financial surprises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t you take insurance?

As an LPC-Associate under supervision, I am not currently credentialed to accept insurance payments. This also allows me to protect your privacy and maintain flexibility in treatment without the limits or diagnostic requirements insurance companies often impose. Once fully licensed, I will evaluate whether accepting insurance aligns with The Well’s mission and accessibility goals.

What is a superbill, and how does it work?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the information your insurance company may require for potential reimbursement. If your insurance offers out-of-network benefits, you can submit the superbill directly to them. Reimbursement rates vary by plan—your insurance provider can confirm your specific coverage.

How do I know if I qualify for a sliding-scale rate?

Sliding-scale rates are designed for clients who are temporarily unable to pay the full session fee due to financial hardship. This may include students, single-income households, or those between jobs. During your consultation, we can briefly discuss your situation to determine if a reduced rate is available.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes. I offer a brief 15-minute phone or video consultation at no cost. This allows you to ask questions, discuss your goals, and ensure that working together feels like the right fit.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers must give patients without insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
